Sada Welfare Foundation is a non-profit charitable foundation established in 2002, which is working for the noble cause of child health and community service. The foundation is a non commercial and non-political organization committed to undertake rehabilitation of health and to serve all irrespective of gender, caste, creed, race and religion. Sada Welfare Foundation is providing community services free of cost.

SADA’s mission is to help and to save the lives of underprivileged children and infants of Sindh and Baluchistan by providing hospitals with life serving medical equipments’ and medicines supplies and staff.

Health care is considered universal human rights. But unfortunately this is not happening in Pakistan. The public health system of Pakistan has many deficiencies due to lack of financial resources, human resources and lack of proper services.

Message from the Chairperson

It is for me a pleasure to forward this newsletter of March – 2020 to all concerned. The news letter is a part of information dissemination to all our partners and solicitors keeping them informed about our projects in NICH, and elsewhere, which has been designed for the welfare of the deserving children.
SADA Welfare Foundation, since its inception in 1995, has been supporting the deserving children who need medical attention and care for their survival.
It is to be mentioned here that we are deeply committed to serving the helpless children in the most efficient and affectionate manner possible. Thalssemia disease is a major problem amongst people in Pakistan like other third world countries and it needs lifelong treatment. SADA Welfare foundation is working through NICH to reduce the impact of Thalassemia. We are providing yearly 4770 free blood products units to patients as our goal is to make a state of the art Thalassemia centre.
Recently SADA Welfare Foundation has procured a machine for blood bank called COBASE 411 ANALYZER, IMMUNOASSY TEST S (DISK SYSTEM) Some other machines, for the up gradation of the blood bank are also in process of procurements.
It is unfortunate that like 2019, and as of now we are facing several misfortune in Pakistan including Corona scare world. In view of this, blood camps can’t be organized in different institutions, also we can’t have fund raising campaign hence we are depending on individual donors only.
We assure our trustees, donors and partners and the communities that our spirit of helping the ailing children will continue to be the most priority of our organization, and we make sure that quality of services must be taken care of in every cases.
For the year 2020 we hope your kind cooperation and donation (cash or blood) to our NGO will continue with more zeal and effort so that we can work more effectively and smoothly, for the welfare of the children and try to combat new challenges. Only your support makes our work possible.
May Allah bless us all.

Case story of Haji Ghulam Nabi S/O Mazar

(Prepared by SADA-Welfare Staff)

This is Haji Ghulam Nabi, age about 45 years. He is a resident of Gulshan-e- Mazdoor, Baldia Town, Karachi. Ghulam Nabi said, “I have three (3) daughters, all are married. He continued, “I have no son who can help us in this old age. We are miserably suffering”.

His neighbor Faiz Mohammad took him initially to Civil Hospital, Karachi for fixing an artificial leg. Ghulam Nabi’s right leg was operated upon, in mid June, 2019, at Burhani Hospital. He has wounds in the leg for at least one year, which was not healing despite taking treatments from various doctors. Doctors at Burhani hospital told him that without cutting the leg, because infected wounds in right lower leg has spread to a larger area. Hence the right leg of Ghulam Nabi was amputated. H is now unable to walk or work. He was referred to Civil Hospital for fixing of artificial leg where he was asked for the payment of Artificial limbs, as he is not working and his needs are taken care by the neighbors, even for transportation cost, while coming to Civil Hospital and Sada Welfare Foundation. He was unable to pay for the artificial leg.
The cost of an artificial leg is around Rs. 15, 500/-.

Ghulam Nabi very glumly said, “I am hand- to- mouth for quite a long time now, so I cannot bear the expenses. I am very much afraid what will happen to my future life, without artificial leg?”

Ghulam Nabi concluded, “I have every hope that SADA WELFARE FOUNDATION will consider my case sympathetically and thus enable me to walk, after fixing the artificial leg.” He is said with hope, “Once I can walk, I shall be able to do some work and try to find a job, and support my family.

SADA needs your donations/charity to help Ghulam Nabi get his limb fixed.

Besides the above expenses Blood Bank Technicians and cleaners are paid by SADA Welfare Foundation. Annually Sada Welfare Foundation is paying 1 (one) million PKR on account of salaries to the staff of Blood bank. SWF also appointed Nurse AID and Bio-medic technician on Neonatal Unit. Annually SWF is paying 1.68 million PKR (approx) on account of salaries to the staff of Neonatal Unit.

SADA HAS TREATED 683,348 CHILDREN DURING 2001-2019

Break up of treatment is as follows:

Blood Bank 5,71000 Patients
Neonatal Unit 133225 Patients
Renal 2,510 Patients
Cancer Ward (JPMC) 3,200 Patients
Cleft Palate Dental Clinic 810 Patients
Artificial Limbs at Civil Hospital 590 Patients

A blood bank must have an adequate supply of blood on hand to meet the demand when patients need it. But this is complicated by the fact that the number of units of bloods that may be used for a particular situation can sometimes be unpredictable, complicated surgical procedures natural and man-made disasters, accidents, increasing number of Thalassemia and oncology patients make it impossible to predict how much blood may be needed at any given time, so having a large supply of viable blood is important. To overcome this difficulty we organize blood camps in different organizations, institutions, universities and public places where people will gladly donate bloods.

It may be mentioned that Child Aid Foundation & Child Life Foundation (CLF) two other NGOs working in NICH. The patients of these NGO’s are also benefitted by the blood bank run by Sada Welfare Foundation.

Future Plans

  • To establish our own children hospital.
  • To purchase machines and screening facilities for treatment of T.B.
  • To purchase Mobile Blood Donation Unit for Blood Camp

Appeal

To provide life-saving blood, medicines, to the needy patients and life saving equipments are the pressing need of our hospital. These projects highly rely on donations from the public in order to fulfill one of basic health of this area. We seek your generous donation either in cash or kind
